  • Please read the brochure carefully to receive necessary information regarding the dental care of your child.
  • Please do not use mobile phones inside operatories.
  • Please do not feed children in the clinic premises. It makes dental examination difficult.
  • Please do not forget to get your appointment card, prescriptions, X-rays and other relevant documents on each visit.
  • Please do not ask for false/inflated bills or certificates.


Instructions regarding medicines prescribed to your child

  • Give medicines regularly as prescribed.
  • Insist on buying the same medicines. Consult doctor if the same are not available.
  • In case of any allergic reactions (skin rash, swelling of face, lip, etc.), STOP the medicines and consult doctor or your family physician immediately.
  • Do not repeat the medicines without consulting your doctor.


Instructions after fluoride application

  • Do not give anything for 1 hour including water.
  • Only liquids except milk/milk products (such as juices, soups) can be given for 3 hours. Solid foods can only be given after 3 hour.
  • Do not brush till next morning.


Instructions after tooth removal

  • Hold the cotton dressing in place for 1 hour.
  • Do not spit, gargle forcefully on the same day. Swallow the saliva accumulated in mouth, if any.
  • Apply ice on the lip/cheek adjacent to the tooth removed intermittently for 3-4 hours.
  • Do not worry if slight oozing of blood is seen. If there is non-stop, excessive bleeding, consult me or a nearby doctor immediately.
  • Give medicines regularly as prescribed.
  • Do not eat anything till the time numbness (effect of anesthesia) persists. Have soft, semisolid, cold (room temp.) food without spice on the same day.
  • Observe that the child does not bite his/her lip, cheek or tongue till the time numbness (effect of anesthesia) persists.


Instructions after pulp therapy (root canal treatment)

  • Give medicines regularly as prescribed.
  • Do not eat anything till the time numbness (effect of anesthesia) persists/ for 1 hour. Have soft, semisolid food on the same day.
  • Observe that the child does not bite his/her lip, cheek or tongue till the time numbness (effect of anesthesia) persists.
  • Avoid chewing hard food from that area. It may cause pain.
  • Do not worry if mild swelling appears. Apply ice-pack from outside on the cheek adjacent to swelling area. Continue the medicines as prescribed.


Instructions after a tooth filling/fissure sealing/cap or space maintainer fixing

  • Avoid chewing anything for ½ hour, avoid chewing for 1 hour at least if local anesthesia is given.
  • Mild sensitivity to hot/cold foods, a feeling of tightness (particularly with a cap) and a different feeling when all teeth meet may be expected for a couple of days.
  • Usually not much discomfort is experienced after these procedures, however, a painkiller may be required if pain bothers your child.
